    Jennifer Vanderstelt Hunter/Jumper Trainer

Jennifer teaches lessons tailored for the beginner to the advanced rider. Whether you need to sharpen your skills on the flat, begin a relationship with a young horse, or advance in your training with your current equine partner, her quiet mechanical approach takes you step by step through the basics to reach your goal. She has a talent for bringing out the best and instilling confidence in both horse and rider.

Jennifer grew up in a horsey family in the Chicago area. She began her show career at the local level where she won her first blue ribbon on her little black mare Misty Carrera and continued on to competing with her advanced horse Power Play against some of the best riders in the country including Ian Miller and Chris Kappler.

As a young girl she competed and placed consistently at National indoor shows in Harrisburg, PA, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, IL (Lamplight). There she took several Grands and Reserves in Equitation, Hunters and Jumpers. She was on the 1981 Junior Jumper Team for Zone 5. They placed 4th at Nationals. One of her favorite memories is a tie for 3rd with Ian Miller in a match race. As an adult Jennifer has owned and operated her own training and sales facility in Wauconda, IL. She imported, trained and sold the Hanoverian Crown Point (a.k.a. Bristol) who went on to be the top AMHA Regular Working Hunter in 1986/87.

She has competed in the Amateurs, Modifieds, and Grand Prix. We are incredibly pleased and honored to have Jennifer as a part of our team at D.A. Stables. We look forward to many fun filled hours training and showing with this talented gal.
